November 19, 2008 Meeting

The SHS Manga/Anime Club met in the library. Ashley L. is the president, Kasey S. is the VP, and Josiah H. is the treasurer. The club viewed the Chico Bag web site and the fundraiser was discussed, dues were collected, and member's blogs and Shelfari sites were viewed. The club screened part of the Claymore anime dvd. The blogs for each group are off to a great start and the screening activities have been a lot of fun.

Chico Bags!

The SHS Manga/Anime Club will be selling Chico Bags as a fund raiser. The bags sell for $5.00 each and are available in a wide variety of colors. Take a look at the Chico Bag link to read more about them and see the colors. The club is making an effort to eliminate plastic bags from the environment by promoting the use of Chico Bags that are reusable. We are hoping for an outstanding fund raiser. Stop by the library or see a club member if you are interested in purchasing a bag. Order forms and money are due by December 12, 2008.

Operation Anime

The SHS Manga/Anime Club is a member of Operation Anime. Click on the icon above to link to their web page. The club recently screened Claymore volumes 1-5. The members met after school one day and watched part of the dvd. They finished during their regular club meeting and a couple of lunch meetings. The group enjoyed the dvd and rated each volume highly! They are looking forward to the next screening! Ghost Hunt is the next dvd we have requested to screen.

Anime Review/Club News

The club will meet in the library at 3:30 on Tuesday November 18, 2008 to preview the dvd anime Claymore. Students need to be prepared to complete movie reviews. You may bring refreshments to share! The next meeting will take place during clubs on November 19. Dues must be paid by that time. Students should have a start on their Shelfari and blog. Ashley L. has been named President, Kasey S. is Vice President, and Josiah H. is secretary/treasurer.

Meeting

The Strasburg High School Graphic Novel/Manga Club will meet in the library media center from 3:30-4:40 on Wednesday,October 15, 2008. If you are unable to attend, please let Mrs. Bushman know as soon as possible.
